Diary | Week 27 | June 28, 2004 - July 04, 2004
The trip to Portugal was definitely a great one. We had a very good time and saw a lot of the country; well, at least of the Southern part. To be honest, the country impressed me quite a bit. It is very beautiful, and the weather was also great!
On Tuesday I went back home again. And on the airport I met Sofia again, the Swede who I already met on the way home. Of course I was in a better mood because we won, and Sweden didn't. :-P Anyway, it was good to have someone to talk to because the journey took quite some time, also because we had to tranfser and wait some time in Brussels.
After this my work waited for me again. And because of all this traveling, and probably some other things, my rhythm was totally gone. And therefore it was quite hard for me to work properly again. It also had to do with the fact that a lot of my friends were already gone, on vacation or on their way home. For example, Emily went back to Taiwan at the moment I arrived.
Another factor involved was the fact that the European Championship was still going on and that, moreover, Holland was still in the game. And because we were already in the semi-final, we had a good chance of winning the championship. On wednesday, we played the semi-final against Portugal and we lost. :-((( We played a good game but so did Portugal who was just more effective at scoring goals. I watched the game in the Dutch pub (Amsterdammertje) again together with Michael. As being a German he probably wanted to sing 'schade Holland, alles ist forbei!' :-P But fortunately (for him as well) he didn't. ;-) But anyway, the end of the championship was pretty crazy. First of we lost and secondly Greece beat Czech Republic. :-S How is this possible... And what's more, Greece beat Portugal in the final on Sunday (which I also watched in the Dutch pun, together with Mauro) and became European Champion... Go Greece!!!

From this point onwards I will not continue writing my diary due to lack of time. To be sure, this is my own choice. As I always say, you always have time; in fact one always has the same amount of time, i.e. 60 minutes per hour, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, etc. Obviously, the problem is that I don't make the time anymore; it would go at the cost of my thesis and assistant work... My apologies to the loyal readers. Marcel
